Blooming Baskets specialise in outdoor trade flower displays, all grown in containers, using hanging baskets, window boxes and pots, or anything you would like filling. The summer displays are installed towards the end of May, beginning of June weather permitting. With over 25 years of experience, every year winning Britain in Bloom prizes you can be confident that if you order with us you are in safe hands. We are reliable and great value. Because we grow all our own plants and install everything ourselves we keep all costs to a minimum.
Our History
Alison started Blooming Baskets in 1990 after developing a purpose built site for growing plants on the farm.
Having studied ‘Commercial Horticulture’ at the Writtle Agriculture College in Essex and further studies at the Royal Horticultural Association gardens in Wisley, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Meet Alison
I love flowers! Their beauty and scent, before I even went to primary school, I’d watch my Nan choose a rose to bring inside and saw the pleasure it gave her!
Grandma was also gardening mad, planting bulbs (or digging them up!); alternating alyssum and lobelia along the borders. In very early spring we would carefully make webs with black cotton above the crocus to stop bluetits pecking and spoiling their blooms. Magical peonies sprouted, our garden was brimming with colour.

Our team, amalgamated over the years, are very experienced and keen to make your premises splendid! We spend hours sowing seeds. Then after very careful plant selection, planting baskets and watering! Getting your orders together for loading and of course delivering them, they take a couple of days to settle after being delivered
Experienced
We have probably swapped your baskets at sometime or other, after being here for 20 years we remember most pubs, and what goes where! We are very experienced at installing water systems and fitting brackets
Purpose built flower farm
Situated in the Tamar Valley the nursery benefits from the warm river running between Devon and Cornwall. We just add a polytunnel or ‘pod’ a year giving us space to let the plants flourish under protection.
I can’t get over how beautiful mine are! For winter I’d like my 4 again, 4 for my neighbour and 1 for my daughter!
